Profile Highlights:
Susan Blount is a nationally recognized leader in diversity and inclusion in the legal profession. She served as General Counsel of Prudential Financial, a leading provider of insurance, retirement and asset management products and services from 2005 to 2015. In that role she was a member of the Company’s Office of the Chairman Group, the six senior-most officers of the company, and led a team of 700 people around the world in the company’s global Law, Compliance, Business Ethics and External Affairs organization. She retired from Prudential at the end of 2015, after thirty years of service. She has been an Adjunct Professor at the University of Texas School of Law since 2016. She served as interim executive director of the Center for Women in Law at the University of Texas in 2019. She is a member of the Board of Directors of Cavco Industries, Inc. (Nasdaq: CVCO), and in 2017 was an Advanced Leadership Initiative Fellow at Harvard University.

Susan is active in professional and community service. While at Prudential she served on the Boards of such organizations as Montclair State University (the second largest university in New Jersey), the Leadership Council for Legal Diversity, the Association of Corporate Counsel, and the New Jersey Law and Education Empowerment Project (NJLeep). She was also a faculty member at Stanford University’s Directors’ College and a regular participant in Stanford’s Institutional Investors Forum. She currently serves as Vice-Chair of the University of Texas Law School Foundation and is President-Elect and a member of the Executive Committee of the Center for Women in Law at the University of Texas. She is also a member of the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees of the Nantucket Historical Association.
